ARCHAEOLOGY DIG PROGRAMS
Work alongside our crew as they dig, sift, identify and record the remains of Baltimore’s colony. We’ll provide the tools and training. All you need is a hankering to get hands-on with history.
Space is limited and advance registration is required for the half and full day dig programs. We will begin taking booking June 1 for our 2022 season. Please contact us then to reserve your space. Below are the 2021 Flyers, our prices have remained the same for the 2022 season.

DIG AND DIG IN
Spend the morning hands on with history as a member of our archaeological crew. Then scrub up and hike to Ferryland Lighthouse for an award-winning gourmet picnic.
Space is limited and advance registration is required. Bookings will begin June 1 for the 2022 season.
BALTIMORE BACKPACKS
We have room to run and plenty of family-friendly activities. Our Baltimore Backpacks (FREE rental with admission) are chock-full of site-specific challenges designed to keep young visitors active and engaged.
GREAT COLONIAL COOK OFF
Our interpretive staff, armed with recipes from the 17th century, encourage you to join them in the ultimate cook off challenge. With their bizarre ingredients, missing measurements, and directions only a “goode huswife” could follow, 17th century recipes are anything but simple. There are weekly prizes to be won, and a grand prize at the end for all who have participated. For more details, please visit Great Colonial Cook Off .
Not a cook? You can still experience the weekly Great Colonial Cook Off with a tour of the Colony of Avalon’s 17th Century Kitchen (included with general admission)! Starting in July our kitchen will be serving up the challenge recipes for 6 weeks. Let your taste buds be the judge!
